Brush, Acrylic Ink. This is a detail shot (approximately 10"x16" [slightly larger than you are viewing]) of the animals from the actual 30" x 40"work "Dragons Of Eden" located in my gallery, category theropod.

There's something with prehistoric themes - superbly-executed prehistoric themes - that always hits a nerve for me. Something to do with our capacity for imagination... going back in time... or maybe it's just, plainly put, extremely cool. Please enjoy a closer look at Dragons Of Eden - In Detail by =thomcomstock. This is flat out wonderful. The very 1980s-Greg Paul-like dromaeosaurs and the composition are incredible :)

Haha - I won't have much time for drawing after the next 1 or 2 weeks, and today I just cranked out yet another rather of those trite profile drawings. I'm gonna definitely browse through some of your art, the skill in the dromaeosaur painting is amazing.

Wow, this is a very nice piece of work, it has a very "natural history documentary" (David Attenborough stuff which I grew up on) feel to it, and to have them just doing things most animals do most of the time (sitting around, scratching themselves) instead of more dramatic "action shots" really adds character to it.

I noticed some of the other people have already point out a few scientific inconsistencies such as the presence of grass, the hand positions, and I can probably point to the plumage (or relatively lack of) too. But I'm going to avoid being too pendantic and just say his is a beautiful piece of work!

I think this looks absolutely amazing, specially the grass, it's just so detailed O_O The one little thing I enjoy a little less are the two trees closest to the viewer, because they just seem to stand ou so much

Thank you. I see what you mean about the trees. I am thinking about painting again soon. If I do another savannah I think I'll pay closer attention to that. Perhaps the darkness of the bark needs some bluing for distance. Thank you for the great comment, Pedro!
